Trees drenched in jewel-like colours, larger-than-life illuminations, dancing waterside reflections, sparkling tunnels of light and magical festive sounds – discover it all and more at the magical Christmas at the Botanics. Don’t forgot to keep an eye open for Santa along the way!
New for 2025, this year’s trail will include new installations from international artists, all of which are designed to complement the garden’s natural landscape. See a flock of oversized birds that spread their brilliant neon-lit feathers wide to illuminate the night sky, and thousands of slowly rotating coloured laser beams that burst through an atmospheric fog, and much more.
And don’t miss the Heart Arch Walk – a tunnel of love made from large LED hearts that sets the Christmas mood with a jolly red glow, creating another perfect picture spot on the trail.
This year’s trail will run for 36 nights, featuring 3 dedicated quiet nights, which offer a more relaxed and accessible environment for those who prefer a calmer atmosphere, allowing everyone to experience the wonder.
This is an outdoor trail, taking approximately 90 minutes to walk, therefore please wear appropriate clothing and footwear. As the trail follows the natural contours of the gardens, some paths can be steep in places.
Visitors are welcome to bring mobility scooters and wheelchairs. There will also be a small number some for hire (these should be pre-booked). Please note that some parts of the trail may not be suitable for all aids, particularly in bad weather.
There will be a variety of places along the way to purchase seasonal food and drinks. Why not complete your walk with a warming hot chocolate or marshmallows toasted over the fire-pit
Running on selected evenings between 20 November and 30 December 2025, all tickets should be pre-booked on Christmas at the Botanics. Book early to secure the date and time of your choice.
